A Toronto Transformation

Heat Wave

This adorable puppy was so hot he couldn't stand to keep all of his paws on the sand. So he found sweet relief by getting under it.

The heat wave Toronto has been broiling under finally lifted this weekend. While I happily complained along with everyone else about the constant sweating and occasional difficulty breathing the soupy air, I have to say, I think I managed to make the most of it while it lasted, feasting on fruit pops and tuna and avocados and fresh local fruits and veggies in an attempt not to cook or bake, napping under trees on my lunchbreak and of course, hopping on the ferry to Ward’s island for some respite from the concrete.

People were stand-up paddle boarding all over the island. It looks like so much fun!

Nothing says summer like sunshine on bare knees and picnic blankets. Though I feel like if I’d been the one henna’d, it would have sweated right off me!

New pals and perfectly positioned swings on Ward’s Island.

How are you keeping cool these days, pets?

Haha! All I can think of whenever frozen grapes are mentioned is Cosmo magazine’s terrible sex advice (which I have not read -except for giggles- since I was a teenager, I should clarify). I swear, there’s something about frozen grapes in every issue. My ex and I used to refer to it as “Frozen Grapes Monthly”

Aww I love the doggy buried in the sand, too cute 🙂
We are finally having sunshine over here, keeping hydrated with ice cold water, lemon Italian soda and homemade mango popsicles. It’s been nice ♥

Follow me around, why dontcha?
